The Dudaim

The Dudaim (Hebrew: הדודאים, also transliterated as The Doodaim) was an Israeli folk duo formed in 1957 and active until 1993. Benny Amdurski and Israel Gurion met at a party and began singing together accompanied by Gurion on guitar. They recognized their harmonies were unique and ended up becoming one of the most popular Hebrew folk song (zemer ivri) groups over more than 30 years. The two were also two-thirds of the Yarkon Bridge Trio with Arik Einstein in the mid-1960s. Benny Amdurski passed away in 1994. The Dudaim were revived by Gurion and Assaf Amdursky, Benny's son, in 2009.
